My 2021 Vision Board
Let’s talk about healing and progression. 2020 was a rough year for me and by the grace of God, I am here on the other side. I’m ready for some real change in 2021. About a week ago friends of mine got together on zoom to put together our vision boards for this year. I haven’t done a vision board in 20 + years. I’ve always told myself that I would put one together but I never really took the time out to do it. I’m a firm believer that whatever goals or dreams you have, you must write them down. Putting them on paper serves as a constant reminder of what you’re working toward. With that said a vision board makes complete sense for me, given the current season of life I’m in. I’m not quite sure why I never did one until now. Needless to say, I present to you my vision board for 2020. This board represents things I want to accomplish in the year or things I want to lay the foundation down for. Laying the foundation to allow for the goal or aspiration to come to fruition in my future.
Let me explain to you what you’re looking at! My focus for 2021 will be curating the life that I want and that I deserve. You’ll see this displayed by 7 different images on my board. At the center, you have hands touching each other, keeping everyone connected. This represents my need to stay close and connected with those that are my support system. I may live far away from everyone, but I never want to lose sight of these connections. After all, they are the ones that held me together during my rough spots of 2020.
Next, you’ll see a photo of a keyboard and money. I’ve always wanted to start a blog and 1 thing I learned in quarantine was that everyone needs a side Hustle bringing in a secondary stream of income. I want to eventually have that second income stream come from my blog. This takes me to the next photo of someone typing on their keyboard with the ocean in front of them. This represents me going more in-depth and sharing with you all my passion for travel and where I am in this world. And I will do that with a beautiful picturesque view as often as possible.
The next image represents being healthy. No matter how old you are or where you’re from, health should always important. For me, sometimes I pay attention to it, and sometimes I don’t. So I want to take a more active role in ensuring that I’m taking care of myself in the best way possible.
The photo on the right-hand corner is an ode to my mom. My mom and her mom were women who were very big on making sure when you walked out the house you looked your best and you had your lips on. So as a way to pay homage to my mother and my grandmother, I vow that as often as I can, I’m going to make sure when I leave this house I have lips on.
The next photo is self-explanatory. I put off having a family and marriage for some time now. Not because I didn’t want it, but it wasn’t something I was actively working towards up until now. My thought process was if fate took over and worked it all out great. And if not I was ok with that. And I wasn’t but I wasn’t losing sleep over it. But things have changed. In this new season of life, I’m going to take an active stance on pursuing and becoming a mother and a wife.
Lastly but certainly not least, I plan to continue my travels of the world. That is of course once the world opens backs up for me. I’m going to start it all off with a trip to my favorite city in the whole wide world. PARIS, FRANCE!!! What’s there not to love about Paris? Mark my words, one day, Paris will be my home. One day, just you wait and see.
Cheers to refocusing and having and creating the vision you want for yourself!!!
